Fionna, Cake, B-Mo, Gunter and some magical gumdrops.  Decided to do something different with the color palette on this one and I think it worked out for the best.  I really, really need to get faster at coloring…but hey, thats my favorite part. Coloring process

I know this doesn't count as a coloring tutorial (I'm still going to do that), but I hope this can show my process (in a very dumbed down fashion) on how I create my artwork.  In no way am I a professional, so don't hold my process as the gospel, but as someone told me when I was just starting out: "Just take parts of what I do and what you've seen from other artists and things you've learned and apply it to what works best for you.  Do what works for you best."

Actually, I think that could be a life lesson quote too.

Finally got this done….it definitely took a minute (The original sketch can be seen here).  This is definitely one of my favorite ones.  It's nice to do something that's a change of pace and not based on cartoons or comic fanart every once in a while.  And if you want this as a 11" x 17" print, then this link is definitely for you.

This song remains fire and reminds me of summer.  But I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this is totally based off of Michael Jackson's Can't Help It.  That probably explains the appeal.

Sinuous Magazine Feature

About a week ago, I was fortunate enough to be featured in an online magazine called Sinuous Magazine.  From time to time, they feature different art and artists that they think deserve spotlight….and I was chosen!  I never received recognition like this before (or anything for that matter), so it was a shock and an honor to be chosen to be featured in their magazine.

When I first started, I never thought that people would actually like what I was doing….but its great that people do and take notice.

I have no idea where the idea came from…it just happens that way sometimes.  I see that I still suck at freehand drawing circles though.
